About the Program

Assistance for Assistants is a professional development opportunity designed specifically to hone the skills necessary to “Be a Great #2!”

Developed as a strategic balance of leadership and management, the target audience for these workshops includes current and aspiring school leaders who want to develop their personal and professional leadership competencies. Workshop sessions address the specific challenges and concerns facing today's assistant principals and aspiring school leaders.

Dr. Hub uses small and large group discussions to inform, involve and inspire. His dynamic leadership style challenges participants and has them critically examining their current views on leadership and management.

Standards-Based, Results-Driven

Delivered as a 4-part series, with workshops scheduled over an entire year, this professional development opportunity is of highest quality. As he teaches, Dr. Hub systematically enables school leaders to acquire and apply new knowledge, skills & abilities addressing the improvement goals of individuals, schools & districts. Workshop sessions can be customized to meet the specific professional development needs of your district.

Assistance for Assistants has been endorsed by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) and the state's largest educational cooperative, Kentucky Educational Development Cooperative (KEDC). School leaders from all over Kentucky have participated in this program during its first two years.

Dr. Hub is a West Point graduate with more than 20 years of leadership experience, most recently as an assistant principal and assistant superintendent. His doctoral research examined the leadership and emotional intelligence competencies of school leaders. He has been certified by the Gallup organization as a Strengths Performance Coach.

With an expertise in leadership education, his active, engaging style produces results, which have an immediate impact on the leadership competencies of his audience. He has facilitated workshops and given presentations at the state and national level on various leadership topics.
